[보도자료] 지스트 고흥조 교수 연구팀, 종이접기 방식을 이용한... '3차원 구조 디스플레이' 개발 국내 연구진이 평면 디스플레이에서는 볼 수 없는 출력 특성을 지니는 3차원 구조의 디스플레이를 구현하는데 성공했다. 지스트(광주과학기술원, 총장 김기선) 신소재공학부 고흥조 교수 연구팀은 플렉시블 전극기반의 평면 디스플레이를 종이접기 방식으로 3차원으로 변형하여 여러 방향으로 출력이 가능한 디스플레이를 개발했다. 디스플레이(Display)는 주로 전기적으로 전송되는 화상신호를 인간이 인식할 수 있는 형태로 표현하는 대표적인 전자소자로써 TV, 핸드폰, 모니터, 전광판, 블랙박스, 스마트워치, 가상현실머신, 차량용 디스플레이 등에 일반적으로 사용되고 있다. 이러한 디스플레이는 그 제작공정에 따라 대부분 평면구조를 지니고 있다. 왼쪽부터 고흥조 교수, 김기관 학생 기존의 평면형 디스플레이는 한 방향으로만 영상을 출력할 수 있어 시청방향이 제한되는 것과는 달리 3차원 구조 디스플레이(3D structure display)는 다양한 방향으로 영상을 출력할 수 있어 가상현실...

[보도자료] 고흥조 교수, 2019년 기초연구진흥 유공자 수상 최기영 장관, 2019년 기초연구진흥 유공자 시상 -올해의 기초연구자 등 우수 성과 연구자 시상 및 격려 - □ 최기영 과학기술정보통신부(이하 ‘과기정통부’) 장관은 2월 12일(수), 2019년 기초연구진흥 유공자에 대한 표창장을 수여하고 수상자들을 격려하였다. o 이번 시상식은 작년 말 선정된 우수성과를 창출한 올해의 기초연구자와 다양한 활동을 통해 기초연구 진흥에 기여한 자에게 장관 표창을 수여하기 위해 마련되었다. o 또한 시상식 후 마련된 간담회에서는 수상자들이 수행했던 연구활동 및 성과를 공유하고 연구현장의 목소리를 청취하는 시간을 가졌다. □ 과기정통부는 연구자가 자유롭게 연구주제를 제시하는 연구자 주도 기초연구사업을 전년대비약 3,200억원 증액하여 2조원 규모로 지원할 계획이다. o 특히 박사후연구원, 신임교원 등 신진연구자 지원 ...

[보도자료] 고흥조 교수, 과학기술정보통신부 '올해의 기초연구자' 10인에 선정 지난해 5월 국제학술지 네이처에 오존층 파괴 물질인 프레온가스(CFC-11)가 증가하고 있다는 연구 결과가 발표됐다. 국제협약인 몬트리올 의정서에 따라 2010년 이후 사용이 전면 금지돼 점점 감소할 것 같았던 프레온가스가 다시 증가하고 있다는 내용이었다. 당시 연구팀은 동아시아권을 배출원으로 지목했지만, 정확한 지역을 특정하진 못했다. 그러나 올해, 프레온 가스 배출의 꼬리가 밟혔다. 박선영 경북대 교수팀을 비롯한 국제공동연구팀이 지난 5월 중국 동부지역에서 연간 7000t 이상의 프레온가스가 새롭게 배출되고 있다는 사실을 밝혀내면서다. 과기부 선정 올해의 기초연구자 생명과학·ICT 융합 등 10명 선정 중국의 국제협약 위반 밝혀내고 ‘공포 기억’ 삭제하는 원리 입증 과학기술정보통신부는 30일 박 교수를 비롯해 ‘2019 올해의 기초연구자’ 10명을 발표했다. 자연과학·생명과학&m...
